Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for openssl.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2010:0162 advisory.

- openssl: missing bn_wexpand return value checks (CVE-2009-3245)

- TLS: MITM attacks via session renegotiation (CVE-2009-3555)

- openssl: crash caused by a missing krb5_sname_to_principal() return value check (CVE-2010-0433)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL openssl package based on the guidance in RHSA-2010:0162.
