F5BI-DM-300037 - The F5 BIG-IP appliance must record time stamps for audit records that can be mapped to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

Information

If time stamps are not consistently applied and there is no common time reference, it is difficult to perform forensic analysis.

Time stamps generated by the application include date and time. Time is commonly expressed in UTC, a modern continuation of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), or local time with an offset from UTC.

Solution

From the BIG-IP GUI:
1. System.
2. Platform.
3. Set "UTC" for "Time Zone".
4. Click "Update".

From the BIG-IP Console, issue the following commands:

tmsh modify sys ntp timezone UTC
tmsh save sys config
