1.35.1 Ensure 'Disable Bing chat entry-points on Microsoft Edge Enterprise new tab page' is set to 'Disabled'

Information

By default, there are two Bing Chat entry-points on the new tab page. One is inside the new tab page search box, and one is in the Bing Autosuggest drawer on-click.

The recommended state for this setting is: Disabled.

Allowing the use of the Bing chat entry-points feature in Microsoft Edge could lead to sensitive data being exposed.

Solution

To establish the recommended configuration via GP, set the following UI path to Disabled :

Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Edge\Disable Bing chat entry-points on Microsoft Edge Enterprise new tab page

Note: This Group Policy path may not exist by default. It is provided by the Group Policy template MSEdge.admx/adml that can be downloaded from Microsoft from Download Edge for Business https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/download.

Impact:

The Bing chat entry-points will not appear on the new tab page.
