2.4.1 Idle Timeout

Information

Tine out access to the console after a period of inactivity.

Inactive unattended console sessions provide the opportunity for anyone with physical access to the device to make configuration changes enabling them to disrupt network operations resulting in a network outage.

Solution

Configure idle timeout

switch#configure
switch(config)#management console
switch(config-mgmt-console)#idle-timeout ?
 <0-86400> Idle session timeout in minutes

switch(config-mgmt-console)#idle-timeout 10
