2.8 Telnet access

Information

Telnet transmits credentials and data in cleartext. It is disabled by default and should not be enabled.

Telnet is an obsolete protocol vulnerable to eavesdropping.

Solution

Disable telnet

switch#conf
switch(config)#management telnet
switch(config-mgmt-telnet)#shutdown
switch(config-mgmt-telnet)#end
switch#
