Information

Passwords set by users must contain at least one letter and one number.

Rationale:

Complex passwords are more resistant against persons seeking unauthorized access to a system.

NOTE: Nessus has not performed this check. Please review the benchmark to ensure target compliance.

Solution

Open Apple Configurator.

Open the Configuration Profile.

In the left window pane, click on the Passcode tab.

In the right window pane, check the checkbox for Require alphanumeric value.

Deploy the Configuration Profile.
