Ubuntu 10.04 LTS : ubuntuone-client regression (USN-1465-3)

Ubuntu Security Notice (C) 2012-2016 Canonical, Inc. / NASL script (C) 2012-2016 Tenable Network Security, Inc.

Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Description :

USN-1465-1 fixed vulnerabilities in Ubuntu One Client. The update
failed to install on certain Ubuntu 10.04 LTS systems that had a
legacy Python 2.5 package installed. This update fixes the problem.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

It was discovered that the Ubuntu One Client incorrectly validated
server certificates when using HTTPS connections. If a remote attacker
were able to perform a man-in-the-middle attack, this flaw could be
exploited to alter or compromise confidential information.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding
description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable
has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected python-ubuntuone-client package.
