Debian DLA-1380-1 : libmad security update

high Nessus Plugin ID 109924

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security update.

Description

Several vulnerabilities were discovered in MAD, an MPEG audio decoder library, which could result in denial of service if a malformed audio file is processed.

For Debian 7 'Wheezy', these problems have been fixed in version 0.15.1b-7+deb7u1.

We recommend that you upgrade your libmad packages.

NOTE: Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the DLA security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Upgrade the affected libmad0, and libmad0-dev packages.
