The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for liblouis.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2017:3111 advisory.

- liblouis: stack-based buffer overflow in findTable() (CVE-2014-8184)

- liblouis: Illegal address access in the _lou_getALine function (CVE-2017-13738)

- liblouis: Stack-buffer overflow in the parseChars() function (CVE-2017-13740)

- liblouis: Use-after-free in the function compileBrailleIndicator() (CVE-2017-13741)

- liblouis: Stack-buffer overflow in the function includeFile() (CVE-2017-13742)

- liblouis: Buffer overflow in the function _lou_showString() (CVE-2017-13743)

- liblouis: Illegal address access in the _lou_getALine() function (CVE-2017-13744)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL liblouis package based on the guidance in RHSA-2017:3111.
