Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for NetworkManager.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2011:1338 advisory.

- NetworkManager: Console user can escalate to root via newlines in ifcfg-rh connection name (CVE-2011-3364)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL NetworkManager package based on the guidance in RHSA-2011:1338.
