Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 6.02, has evince packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- A flaw was found in Poppler in the way certain PDF files were converted into HTML. A remote attacker could exploit this flaw by providing a malicious PDF file that, when processed by the 'pdftohtml' program, would crash the application causing a denial of service. (CVE-2020-27778)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL evince packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
