Debian DLA-3030-1 : zipios++ - LTS security update

medium Nessus Plugin ID 161655

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

The remote Debian 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the dla-3030 advisory.

- Zipios before 0.1.7 does not properly handle certain malformed zip archives and can go into an infinite loop, causing a denial of service. This is related to zipheadio.h:readUint32() and zipfile.cpp:Zipfile::Zipfile(). (CVE-2019-13453)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the zipios++ packages.

For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 0.1.5.9+cvs.2007.04.28-6+deb9u1.
