high Nessus Plugin ID 99024

Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

Hanno Bock discovered that GStreamer Good Plugins did not correctly handle certain malformed media files. If a user were tricked into opening a crafted media file with a GStreamer application, an attacker could cause a denial of service via application crash.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
