Ubuntu Security Notice (C) 2017 Canonical, Inc. / NASL script (C) 2017 Tenable Network Security, Inc.

Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security-related
patches.

Description :

Josef Gajdusek discovered that the LibVNCServer client library
incorrectly handled certain FrameBufferUpdate messages. If a user were

this issue to cause a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary
code. (CVE-2016-9941, CVE-2016-9942).

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding
description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable
has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected libvncclient1, libvncserver0 and / or
libvncserver1 packages.
