Synopsis :

The remote Gentoo host is missing one or more security-related
patches.

Description :

The remote host is affected by the vulnerability described in GLSA-201701-13
(HDF5: Multiple vulnerabilities)

Multiple arbitrary code execution vulnerabilities have been discovered
in HDF5. Please review the CVE identifiers referenced below for details.

Impact :

An attacker could execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the
process via a maliciously crafted database file.

Workaround :

There is no known workaround at this time.

Solution :

All HDF5 users should upgrade to the latest version:
# emerge --sync
# emerge --ask --oneshot --verbose '>=sci-libs/hdf5-1.8.18'
