Adobe ColdFusion Unspecified Reflected XSS (APSB16-22)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 91677

Synopsis

A web-based application running on the remote host is affected by a reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability.

Description

The version of Adobe ColdFusion running on the remote Windows host is missing a security hotfix. It is, therefore, affected by a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability due to a failure to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An unauthenticated, remote attacker, using a crafted request, can exploit this to execute arbitrary script code in the user's browser session.

Solution

Apply the relevant hotfix as referenced in Adobe Security Bulletin APSB16-22.
