Ubuntu Security Notice (C) 2015-2016 Canonical, Inc. / NASL script (C) 2015-2016 Tenable Network Security, Inc.

Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security-related
patches.

Description :

Hanno Bock discovered that Libtasn1 incorrectly handled certain ASN.1

crafted ASN.1 data and cause applications using Libtasn1 to crash,
resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding
description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable
has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected libtasn1-3 and / or libtasn1-6 packages.

Risk factor :

(CVSS2#AV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P)
CVSS Temporal Score : 3.4
