Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

James P. Turk discovered that the ReST renderer in django-markupfield, a custom Django field for easy use of markup in text fields, didn't disable the ..raw directive, allowing remote attackers to include arbitrary files.

Solution

Upgrade the django-markupfield packages.

For the stable distribution (wheezy), this problem has been fixed in version 1.0.2-2+deb7u1.

For the upcoming stable distribution (jessie), this problem has been fixed in version 1.2.1-2+deb8u1.
