Ubuntu 10.04 LTS : clamav vulnerability (USN-2488-2)

Ubuntu Security Notice (C) 2015-2016 Canonical, Inc. / NASL script (C) 2015-2016 Tenable Network Security, Inc.

Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Description :

USN-2488-1 fixed a vulnerability in ClamAV for Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu
14.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. This update provides the
corresponding update for Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

Sebastian Andrzej Siewior discovered that ClamAV incorrectly handled
certain upack packer files. An attacker could possibly use this issue
to cause ClamAV to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or
possibly execute arbitrary code.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding
description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable
has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected clamav package.
