Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing a security update.

Description

When opcontrol was run by a normal user with sudo access it was possible for the user to craft options to opcontrol that would allow commands to be run with root privileges.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Fedora security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected oprofile package.
