Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for subversion.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2011:0258 advisory.

 - Subversion: Access restriction bypass by checkout of the root of the repository (CVE-2010-3315)

 - Subversion (mod_dav_svn): DoS (crash) by processing certain requests to display all available repositories to a web browser (CVE-2010-4539)

 - Subversion: DoS (memory consumption) by processing blame or log -g requests on certain files (CVE-2010-4644)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL subversion package based on the guidance in RHSA-2011:0258.
