Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Description

Matthias Gerstner discovered that PackageKit incorrectly handled authentication. A local attacker could possibly use this issue to install arbitrary packages and escalate privileges.

Solution

Update the affected packagekit package.
