Cisco Firepower Management Center Multiple XSS

medium Nessus Plugin ID 103193

Synopsis

A network management application installed on the remote host is affected by multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Cisco Firepower Management Center installed on the remote host is equal or prior to 6.0.1.3. It is, therefore, affected by multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities:

- A reflected cross-site scripting vulnerability in the web-based management interface due to improper validation of user-supplied input. An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into visiting a crafted link and could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary script code in the user's browser session. (CVE-2017-12220)

- A stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the web-based management interface due to improper validation of user-supplied input. An authenticated, remote attacker could exploit this, via a specially crafted request, to execute arbitrary script code in a future user's browser session. (CVE-2017-12221)

Solution

Upgrade to Cisco Firepower Management Center version 6.2.0.1 or later.
