Adobe Connect < 9.6.2 Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB17-22)

high Nessus Plugin ID 101395

Synopsis

The remote web server contains an application that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Adobe Connect running on the remote host is prior to 9.6.2. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities :

- A clickjacking vulnerability exists due to a failure to prevent concealing hyperlinks beneath legitimate, clickable content using transparent opaque overlays. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by convincing a user to visit a website with malicious content, to trick users into performing unintended actions. (CVE-2017-3101)

- Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities exist due to improper validation of user-supplied input before returning it to users. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit these, via a specially crafted request, to execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser session. (CVE-2017-3102, CVE-2017-3103)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Adobe Connect version 9.6.2 or later.
