Ubuntu Security Notice (C) 2017 Canonical, Inc. / NASL script (C) 2017 Tenable Network Security, Inc.

Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Description :

Agostino Sarubbo and Jakub Jirasek discovered that libsndfile
incorrectly handled certain malformed files. A remote attacker could
use this issue to cause libsndfile to crash, resulting in a denial of
service, or possibly execute arbitrary code.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding
description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable
has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected libsndfile1 package.
