Login: Configure Pre-login Banner

Information

Login banners and there usage has been a topic of debate with several schools of thought.
a. Don't use one, at all, as it gives up too much information about your organization and the device.
b. Use one but just a 'Keep Out' sign
c. Use a fully detailed sign that indicates organization and usage policy
We are not providing legal advice on this issue, this is something each organization has to discuss and determine if this is a requirement for their organization. Legal advice should be sought to determine the best wording to fit your organizations needs. A banner will not stop a user who is insistent on accessing a system. It is also advisable not to indicate your organization name, as attackers will typically hold these as trophies in their owned file.

Solution

Run the following command on the device to implement a pre-login banner: configure system login-control pre-login-message <text>
