Tenable Network Security’s inaugural Global Cybersecurity Assurance Report Card measures how enterprise IT security professionals view their organization’s ability to assess cybersecurity risks and to mitigate threats that can exploit those risks.
Tenable surveyed 504 security practitioners worldwide and assigned indices and grades to the responding organizations by country and by industry. Security professionals collectively reported just 73% on the Risk Assessment Index and 79% on the Security Assurance Index, averaging out to earn a 76% -- an unremarkable “C.” Additional insights reveal cloud and mobile devices are still pain points for organizations worldwide, and although security professionals are confident in the ability of their tools to detect risks and convey threats to their business executives, many feel their boards aren’t on the same page.
