Atlassian Crucible Server 3.9.x < 3.9.1 XSS

medium Nessus Network Monitor Plugin ID 9572

Synopsis

The remote Crucible server is affected by a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability.

Description

Versions of Crucible 3.9.x prior to 3.9.1 contain a flaw that allows an XSS attack. This flaw exists because the program does not validate input in review file paths before returning it to users. This may allow a remote attacker to create a specially crafted request that would execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser session within the trust relationship between their browser and the server.

Solution

Upgrade to Crucible version 3.9.1 or later.
