high Nessus Network Monitor Plugin ID 9381

Synopsis

The remote host has a web browser installed that is vulnerable to a remote code execution (RCE) attack vectors.

Description

Versions of Mozilla Firefox ESR earlier than 24.4 are unpatched for a flaw that exists in the 'checkHandshake()' function in 'security/manager/ssl/src/nsNSSIOLayer.cpp'. The issue is triggered as user-supplied input is not properly validated. This may allow a context-dependent attacker to corrupt memory and potentially execute arbitrary code.
