The remote client is a phone that understands the Skinny protocol, also known as SCCP, for 'Skinny Client Control Protocol'. Skinny is Cisco's proprietary lightweight terminal control protocol used by some VoIP phones to communicate with Cisco CallManager or Asterisk PBX systems.
