TPKT Server Detection

Info

Synopsis

A TPKT Server has been detected.

Description

ISO Transport Service on top of TCP (TPKT) is defined in RFC 2126. Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) protocols as defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) can be encapsulated in TCP using TPKT. TPKT emulates the OSI Transport Service Access Point (TSAP).

TCP port 102 is reserved for hosts which implement TPKT; however, it is not required that port 102 be used for all connections. One example of a protocol that uses TPKT but does not use port 102 is Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) which uses TCP port 3389.
