Fedora 23 : wordpress-4.4.1-1.fc23 (2016-21f5261525)

high Nessus Plugin ID 89493

Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing a security update.

Description

**WordPress 4.4.1 Security and Maintenance Release** WordPress versions 4.4 and earlier are affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability that could allow a site to be compromised. This was reported by Crtc4L. There were also several non-security bug fixes: * Emoji support has been updated to include all of the latest emoji characters, including the new diverse emoji! ðŸ‘👌👏 * Some sites with older versions of OpenSSL installed were unable to communicate with other services provided through some plugins. * If a post URL was ever re-used, the site could redirect to the wrong post.
WordPress 4.4.1 fixes 52 bugs from 4.4. For more information, see the [release notes](https://codex.wordpress.org/Version_4.4.1) or consult the [list of changes](https://core.trac.wordpress.org/query?milestone=4.4.1).

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the Fedora security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Update the affected wordpress package.
