Oracle Solaris Third-Party Patch Update : squid (multiple_vulnerabilities_in_squid)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 80773

Synopsis

The remote Solaris system is missing a security patch for third-party software.

Description

The remote Solaris system is missing necessary patches to address security updates :

- Multiple memory leaks in tools/cachemgr.cc in cachemgr.cgi in Squid 2.x and 3.x before 3.1.22, 3.2.x before 3.2.4, and 3.3.x before 3.3.0.2 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via (1) invalid Content-Length headers, (2) long POST requests, or (3) crafted authentication credentials. (CVE-2012-5643)

- cachemgr.cgi in Squid 3.1.x and 3.2.x, possibly 3.1.22, 3.2.4, and other versions, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (resource consumption) via a crafted request. NOTE: this issue is due to an incorrect fix for CVE-2012-5643, possibly involving an incorrect order of arguments or incorrect comparison.
(CVE-2013-0189)

Solution

Upgrade to Solaris 11.1.8.4.0.
