Synopsis :

The remote web proxy is affected by multiple information disclosure
vulnerabilities.

Description :

According to its self-identified version number, the version of Privoxy
installed on the remote host is affected by multiple information
disclosure vulnerabilities:

- The application does not properly handle
Proxy-Authenticate headers, which can allow for a remote
HTTP server to spoof the header and gain access to
credentials via a 407 (Proxy Authentication Required)
HTTP status code.

- The application does not properly handle
Proxy-Authorization headers, which can allow a remote
HTTP server to spoof the header via a 407
(Proxy Authentication Required) HTTP status code.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead
relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution :

Upgrade to version 3.0.21 or later.
