Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Description :

Markus Vervier discovered that PyPAM incorrectly handled passwords
containing NULL bytes. An attacker could exploit this to cause
applications using PyPAM to crash, or possibly execute arbitrary code.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding

has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected python-pam package.
