Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing one or more security-related
patches.

Description :

Andrew Griffiths discovered that QEMU did not correctly drop
privileges when using the 'runas' argument. Under certain
circumstances a local attacker could exploit this to escalate
privileges.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding

without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected qemu-kvm, qemu-kvm-extras and / or
qemu-kvm-extras-static packages.
