Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 11.5.6 / 11.6.2 / 12.1.3 / 13.0.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K19361245 advisory.

- In F5 BIG-IP 12.0.0-12.1.2, 11.6.0-11.6.1, 11.5.1-11.5.5, or 11.2.1 there is a vulnerability in TMM related to handling of invalid IP addresses. (CVE-2017-6158)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K19361245.
